We are the headlines, we make the news

But there's this strange belief that only other people do

Populations watch their TV screens in disbelief

And thank the Lord that this could never happen to me

But we'll fight the fires in forests

We'll campaign against disease

We'll escape from all those troubles

In those foreign countries

And we'll hear but we won't listen

And we'll see what we want

And we'll be blissfully innocent

We meet the deadlines that are due

But when it's left to us we just do what we need to do

Mass starvation, mutilation we see every day

But never stop to wonder if it could be on its way

So we'll hide inside our own world

Watching TV through the night

We'll confess our sins to magazines

And it'll be alright

And we'll hear but we won't listen

And we'll see what we want

And we'll be blissfully innocent
